Even though we try to avoid it, we all have bad days from time to time. And because bad days are basically counter-productive in all aspects of life, we should try our best to minimize the amount and impact of bad days.
In 7 Ways To Turn Around Your Bad Day In A Few Minutes, Gwen Moran provides suggestions for ways in which to change your mood and thereby make your day better.
I especially like the way in which the tips focus on different domains - with appeal to several of our senses, there are suggestions among these that will resonate with most people.

James Altucher has written an interesting blog post on The Ten Most Important Books To Expand Your Brain.
Not only is his list of books interesting (along with the suggestions on other books than the ten listed to throw in) - of course there could be others as well, but a list of ten and a couple of additional suggestions is only so long.
But really the most interesting things come before the list - where he starts of with some pieces of advice with regards to books (and types of books) to avoid.

Scott Cochrane lists 3 Lies that can Shipwreck a Leader.
3 little lies, which seem so innocent - and that is actually the gravest danger; they seem so small that it is easy to trick us into allowing ourselves onto the slippery slope, which ends at a point where we have undermined our own integrity.
Scott's text works as a short, effective reminder to stay clear of these three rocks on your leadership path.

Let's face it - most likely, we have all experienced it: Listening to a presentation which can politely be described as "not optimal", sitting with one thing on our minds: "I really hope that my presentations are better than this". After having read Deborah G. Riegel's text on 3 Presentation Mistakes You're Making (And How to Fix Them), I am pretty sure that if we succeed in getting these three things right, we will actually be doing pretty well.

Even the hardest working, bravest person can get into situations, where she experiences stress. And when such situations occur, it is a very good idea to be prepared, armed by reading Anne Grady's article with Harvard Business Review: Handle Your Stress Better by Knowing What Causes It. The point being: if we understand our triggers and our responses in stressful situations, we are better suited to cope in these situations. An interesting and valuable interpretation of "Know Thyself".

These days, it will have occurred to most that when it comes to leadership, the times are much more in favor of "Collaborate and Succeed", rather than "Divide and Conquer". Therefore, I am also an avid reader of anything related to collaborative leadership. And that is why, after having found a reference to it in the Twitter feed of Julie Winkle Guilioni, it was with interest I dug into Jesse Lyn Stoner's 8 Principles of Collaborative Leadership,

And finally, I was once again inspired by Rebecca Elvy, who shared a text from Harvard Business Review - Dorie Clark's Even Senior Executives Need a Side Hustle.
The text underlines a number of good reasons why taking up a side hustle could be a good way to advance your career. And one thing, I would like to answer - if you take up a side hustle, there's a good reason to assume that it will be something that you're passionate about, and you are almost certain to have fun along with enjoying all the professional benefits listed by Dorie Clark.

Again, I hope the above has been able to inspire you in your reading, and I hope you stay tuned for seven new things next week.
