When educated in engineering (as I am), it is often difficult to see sales people as other than aliens with whom we have nothing in common. But even though we think that we are not, we are all in sales. And we have to ask ourselves if WE believe in what we are selling. Especially us who think we are not in sales can benefit from reading Eileen McDargh's text From Pain to Profit: Resiliency Lessons for Sales.

Even though control is - if we think a little closer about - merely an illusion, our lives are pretty much about control anyway. In “Your Music and People”: Repeatedly follow-up to show you care, Derek Sivers tells an interesting story. Interesting, because I think it also relates to our interpersonal contacts and networking on social media. We follow and are followed by so many people that it is practically impossible to treat them all with the respect and concern that they rightfully deserve. So we put most of our effort into those people who follow up - and follow up again. They show they care - and we do right in treating people the same way, showing we care. The text actually hits right in the middle of my philosophy with quality over quantity - rather five mutually inspiring connections who engage in my network than 5000 who just follow me to make me follow them.

There are a lot of quotes about fear. How it is a choice that we can refrain from. How it is a reaction that we can counter with courage. But it is actually difficult to do it armed only with such one-liners. It becomes much more tangible after having read Steve Rizzo's text

For some of us, we are slowly entering the Easter holidays - but if the above has been able to inspire you in your reading, I promise to stay tuned for seven new things next week.
